Uplift Kids: Guiding Parents on Emotions and Wisdom
In this episode, I talk to Jon Ogden, Michelle Larson, and Amanda Suarez from Uplift Kids about their curriculum designed to teach children about emotions and wisdom traditions. We discuss the importance of validating all emotions as valuable information and the need for parents to first examine their own relationship with emotions. A key takeaway is that a parent's mindfulness practice is foundational for modeling healthy emotional responses for their children, and that the parent-child relationship itself can be a vehicle for transformation. Uplift Kids offers flexible resources that meet families where they are, with age-specific content and various formats to fit busy lives, making secular Buddhist principles accessible for modern parenting.
